Volunteering benefits everyone involved. Students benefit from the support of volunteers who bring life skills, expertise, knowledge and diversity to a range of activities within our school.
There are many ways to volunteer your time within our school. We have volunteers supporting students in the classroom and specific learning programs, gardening, fundraising, sport, catering, Busy Bees and various events such as Arts Week, Concert and our Community Easter Egg Hunt.
Volunteers need to sign in at the school office or with the event co-ordinator (out of school hours) in order to satisfy insurance requirements.
Support-A-Reader
Our Support-A-Reader program is support students in gaining confidence and assisting them with strategies for reading. The school offers courses throughout the year for parents and the wider community to attend and learn the basics of mentoring beginning reading students.
Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden
The SAKG program provides students with the opportunities to explore the curriculum in the garden or kitchen context. Pleasurable food education teaches Australian children positive food habits through fun, hands-on learning. Each area is led by a staff member and extra hands are always welcome.
