Uniform Dress Code
The Beerwah State School community recognises the importance of wearing of a school uniform and has endorsed the school dress code. All students are required to wear the uniform which includes a wide brimmed black hat. Visit our Uniform Shop section for purchases.
Athletics (House Colours)
Students are encouraged to wear T-shirts in house colours for our School Interhouse Carnivals. Sport Houses are Coochin (red), Mellum (green), Stanley (yellow) and Blue Gum (blue).
Hats
The school hat is a wide brimmed black hat that offers good sun protection. Caps are not permitted unless they are a legionnaire cap design. The school’s sun safe policy is “NO HAT – NO OUTSIDE PLAY”.
Jewellery
1 watch and 1 signet ring are acceptable. Earrings should be studs or sleepers only. These rules ensure that safety standards in dress are in place.
Non-Uniform Days
On special “non-uniform days” or on the rare occasion that the school uniform is not ready to be worn, the clothes worn by the student should reflect the style of the uniform. As the clothing should be “sun safe”, it should include a collared shirt with sleeves over the shoulder and a wide brimmed hat. Where unsuitable clothes are worn to school, parents will be contacted to bring to the school a change of clothes.
