A Conversation Can Change a Life

R U OK? inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the  people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life.

You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener. Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:

1.  Ask R U OK?      -      2.  Listen     -      3.  Encourage action      -      4.  Check in

Today parents and staff gathered for an afternoon coffee and a chat on the Green, to recognise and support R U OK? Day 2021.

Beerwah State School recognises the importance of being part of a community that looks out for one another.  R U OK? is an organisation working to inspire us to have regular, meaningful, conversations, encouraging everyone to make staying connected and asking ‘are you OK?’ a part of their everyday.

Student leaders presented information and key messages from their visit with the Barefoot Dutchman who stopped by Beerwah on his walk from Cairns to Sydney.  The Barefoot Dutchman is attempting to break the world record for the longest walk without shoes, and raising awareness for men's mental health.
