Robotics

​​​​Beerwah State School students are being introduced to real-world science and engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on thematic playing surfaces.

The aim of the program is to develop students' confidence in STEAM concepts via learning through play. STEAM is an educational approach to lear​ning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the​ Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. Teams, guided by their imaginations get to:

• Design, build, test and program robots using LEGO ​​SPIKE Prime ® technology
• Apply real-world math and science concepts
• Research challenges facing today’s scientists
• Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills
